TechOps Consultant – Enterprise AI Tools
Start Date:
ASAP
Contract | £400 per day
Flexible Working | Hybrid and Remote Options
We’re looking for an experienced TechOps Consultant to take ownership of how enterprise AI tools are provisioned, licensed, governed and supported across a growing organisation.
Sitting within the Enterprise TechOps team, you’ll manage the full operational lifecycle of AI tools used across the business—from vendor intake and access provisioning through to licensing, renewals, user support and adoption reporting.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who understands that enterprise AI tools require the same operational rigour as any other business-critical software. You’ll help prevent ungoverned “shadow AI”, eliminate unnecessary costs and ensure every tool has a clear owner, controlled access pathway and measurable business value.
The Opportunity
As TechOps Consultant, you’ll act as the central operational owner for the organisation’s enterprise AI toolset. You’ll work across technology, security, procurement and end-user teams to establish effective governance while ensuring employees can access the tools and support they need.
This is a hands-on position suited to someone who can balance technical operations, commercial awareness and user enablement. You’ll play an important role in creating a secure, cost-effective and well-supported AI tooling environment.
Key Responsibilities
You’ll help establish and maintain a governed enterprise AI ecosystem by:
- Managing vendor and tool intake, licensing and seat allocation for enterprise AI tools.
- Owning access provisioning and offboarding processes through SSO and OIDC.
- Leading tool rationalisation and renewal management to remove duplicated, underused or ungoverned solutions.
- Providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for AI tool-related issues.
- Creating internal documentation, user training and enablement content.
- Defining, maintaining and enforcing acceptable-use policies for enterprise AI tools.
- Producing licence-utilisation, cost-per-seat and tool-adoption reporting.
- Supporting chargeback reporting and providing insight to inform the wider platform roadmap.
- Establishing a clear owner, governed access pathway and visible cost and adoption data for every enterprise AI tool.
- Building effective relationships with software vendors and internal stakeholders.
About You
You’ll bring a strong understanding of IT operations and enterprise software management, alongside the confidence to take end-to-end ownership of business-critical tools.
You will also have:
- At least two years’ experience in IT operations, platform engineering or SaaS and tool operations management.
- Experience managing enterprise software licensing, vendor relationships and renewal cycles.
- Working knowledge of SSO, OIDC and enterprise access-provisioning and offboarding workflows.
- Experience producing cost, utilisation or chargeback reporting for enterprise software.
- The ability to provide effective end-user support as well as manage backend processes.
- Experience creating clear documentation, training materials or enablement content.
- Strong stakeholder-management, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- A proactive approach to identifying unnecessary costs, duplicated tools and governance risks.
- Ideally, familiarity with enterprise AI solutions such as Copilot-style assistants or internal AI chat tools.
Why Apply?
This is an opportunity to take genuine ownership of a rapidly evolving area of enterprise technology and help shape how AI tools are managed across an organisation.
In return, you’ll benefit from:
- A competitive rate of £400 per day.
- Flexible working, including hybrid and remote options.
- Autonomy to manage your time and focus on meaningful outcomes.
- The opportunity to influence enterprise AI governance, adoption and platform strategy.
- A supportive and friendly culture built around trust, curiosity and professional development.
- The chance to work alongside knowledgeable people who care deeply about delivering high-quality work.
