Job Title: System Security Consultant
Overview:
Join as a System Security Consultant and play a pivotal role in safeguarding critical Defence and National Security missions. In this dynamic operational role, you will ensure our internal systems and information are protected, supporting Business continuity through ongoing security management and compliance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security policies, conduct risk assessments, and uphold the highest standards of digital trust in a fast-paced, innovative environment. Your expertise will directly impact national security, making this an opportunity to work on complex challenges that truly matter.
Required Skills:
- Proven experience with risk assessments using industry standards such as NIST or ISO 27005
- Ability to develop and maintain comprehensive security policies and documentation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Azure, M365, Intune, JAMF, Windows, macOS, and Kubernetes environments
- Knowledge of Agile, DevSecOps, CI/CD principles within secure environments
- Familiarity with security compliance frameworks and producing evidence to meet MOD regulations
- Capability to manage change securely and effectively
- Analytical mindset, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience working on security in safety-critical or heavily regulated environments
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISA, or equivalent
- Practical knowledge of physical and procedural risk mitigation techniques
- Experience supporting or advising project teams on operational security improvements
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field
- Several years of hands-on security experience, ideally within defence, national security, or similarly sensitive sectors
Other Requirements:
- Must be eligible for UK Security Clearance due to the sensitive nature of the role
- Willingness to work in a hybrid environment with on-site requirements at Farnborough
