Security Architect

As a Security Architect, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the security landscape of complex systems, ensuring operational excellence and safeguarding critical assets in highly secure environments. This is your opportunity to work on innovative technology projects that make a real difference at the national level.

In this strategic role, you will develop and implement secure cyber architectures, lead security risk mitigation efforts, support Agile teams with secure Kubernetes and cloud environments, and produce evidence to meet MOD regulations. Collaborate with diverse teams across Software Engineering, DevSecOps, Infrastructure, and Cyber Security to design and deliver resilient, secure solutions that push the boundaries of technology.

Required Skills:

  • Proven experience designing secure government or enterprise systems, especially those deployed in cloud environments.
  • Expertise in threat assessment methodologies (e.g., STRIDE).
  • Hands-on security engineering within Azure and M365 environments.
  • Strong knowledge of MOD policies (JSP 440, 453/604, 892).
  • Experience working with DevSecOps, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ability to produce detailed security documentation and reports.
  • Familiarity with secure-by-design development principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and ownership mindset.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Experience in security risk management for live services.
  • Familiarity with secure infrastructure design for MOD or government projects.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in cybersecurity.
  • Previous experience supporting or leading security strategies in a collaborative environment.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Relevant degree or equivalent technical qualification.
  • Significant experience working in secure environments, ideally within Defence or National Security sectors.
  • Prior involvement in Agile development cycles and secure cloud deployments.

Other Requirements:

  • Must hold or be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance.
  • Willingness to support occasional travel as needed.
  • Strong writing skills for security reports and documentation.
