What You’ll Be Doing:
- Keeping a detailed inventory of all software assets, licenses, and entitlements
- Monitoring renewals and upgrades to maintain continuity and compliance
- Analysing usage to spot cost-saving opportunities and reduce underutilised tools
- Managing supplier relationships and negotiating contracts with software vendors
- Ensuring adherence to licensing agreements, policies, and audit requirements
- Developing and enforcing software asset management processes and educating colleagues
- Preparing purchase orders and supporting procurement activities from sourcing to delivery
- Providing clear reporting on usage, compliance, and spend to guide decision-making
- Identifying risks and staying current on licensing laws and compliance standards
- Collaborating with IT, project teams, and suppliers to align software needs with business goals
Main Skills Needed:
- Proven experience managing software assets in a complex environment
- Strong understanding of software licensing, compliance, and procurement processes
- Skilled in analysing usage data and producing actionable insights
- Confident negotiator able to build relationships with vendors and suppliers
- Excellent organisational skills to manage inventories, renewals, and documentation
- Ability to develop policies and educate stakeholders on compliance requirements
- Comfortable working cross-functionally and supporting internal and external audits
