What You’ll Be Doing:
- Delivering proactive and reactive operational support to maintain stable, secure environments
- Resolving incidents, implementing changes, and performing maintenance tasks efficiently
- Developing operational improvements and automation to increase reliability and productivity
- Creating clear documentation and supporting environment management alongside the Tech Lead
- Monitoring systems proactively to anticipate and prevent issues
- Engaging with stakeholders for service performance reviews and reporting
- Applying ITIL4 practices within an agile operational framework
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations through managing service operations
- Executing approved changes to configurations and documentation to ensure smooth service delivery
Main Skills Needed:
- Proven experience in managing IT operations within complex, secure environments, preferably in national security or defence sectors
- Strong knowledge of VMWare Suite, Windows and Linux system administration
- Familiarity with network technologies, security principles, and backup solutions such as Veeam
- Experience with containerisation platforms like Docker and Kubernetes; monitoring tools such as Nagios
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across all levels of the organisation
- Familiarity with ITIL framework and working with DevOps teams in secure settings
- Supportive understanding of software development practices and microservices architecture
