We’re partnering with a leading technology and engineering organisation to appoint an experienced Enterprise Applications Manager to lead a newly formed Business Systems team supporting operations across EMEA.
This is an excellent opportunity for an accomplished applications or IT leader to shape the organisation’s enterprise applications landscape, develop its long-term technology roadmap and build a high-performing regional team.
Sitting within the EMEA IT leadership function, you’ll work at the intersection of technology and business strategy, optimising application performance, delivering measurable business value and building strong relationships across a complex international organisation.
The Opportunity
As Enterprise Applications Manager, you’ll take ownership of the strategic direction and end-to-end lifecycle of critical enterprise applications across EMEA.
You’ll assess and transform the existing applications landscape, developing a forward-looking roadmap aligned with wider business priorities and long-term technology objectives.
This is a high-impact leadership position offering the scope to establish a newly formed team, influence senior stakeholders and improve the reliability, performance, governance and value of business-critical systems.
Key Responsibilities
You’ll lead the development and delivery of the enterprise applications strategy by:
- Defining and delivering a strategic roadmap for enterprise applications aligned with business priorities and long-term technology direction.
- Leading the complete application lifecycle, including selection, implementation, upgrades, optimisation and retirement.
- Reviewing the existing applications landscape and identifying opportunities for transformation, consolidation and improvement.
- Ensuring the reliability, availability and performance of critical enterprise systems.
- Establishing best-practice application support, service management and incident-management processes.
- Building, leading and developing a high-performing team of application specialists.
- Creating a collaborative team culture focused on innovation, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Partnering with business units, IT service lines and external vendors to deliver effective and value-driven solutions.
- Developing strong relationships with stakeholders across a complex, matrixed organisation.
- Managing application suppliers and ensuring services deliver appropriate value and performance.
- Embedding effective governance, security and compliance standards across the enterprise applications portfolio.
- Ensuring technology investments deliver measurable operational and commercial value.
- Supporting application delivery and transformation activity across multiple countries within the EMEA region.
About You
You’ll be an experienced Enterprise Applications Manager or senior IT leader with the strategic, technical and people-management capabilities required to shape a complex regional applications landscape.
You will also have:
- Proven experience in a senior applications-management, business-systems or IT leadership role.
- Experience developing and delivering strategic roadmaps for enterprise applications.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise technology ecosystems, including ERP, PLM, BI and SaaS platforms.
- Knowledge of integration technologies and the management of interconnected enterprise systems.
- Experience with technologies and platforms such as Atlassian, Microsoft 365, SharePoint or ServiceNow.
- A strong understanding of the complete application lifecycle, from selection and implementation through to optimisation and retirement.
- Demonstrable experience building, managing and developing technical teams.
- The ability to influence and deliver outcomes across complex, matrixed organisations.
- Strong stakeholder-engagement and relationship-management skills.
- Experience managing external vendors, suppliers and technology partners.
- Strong project-delivery capabilities and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
- Excellent communication, organisational and analytical skills.
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
It would also be advantageous to have:
- Experience within a manufacturing, engineering or production environment.
- Previous experience supporting technology within a secure or classified setting.
- Knowledge of enterprise applications used across defence, cyber or advanced technology organisations.
Security Clearance
Due to the nature of the work, applicants must be sole British nationals and either hold or be eligible to obtain and maintain UK Government Security Clearance to SC level.
Candidates must also be willing and able to obtain a higher level of clearance if required.
