What You’ll Be Doing:
- Design, deploy, and maintain resilient, high-availability web services across different environments.
- Lead efforts to improve reliability, reduce technical debt, and manage incident responses including root cause analysis.
- Develop, automate, and optimise infrastructure as code and container platforms with tools like Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Ansible, and Terraform.
- Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines for safe, repeatable deployments.
- Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and tracing to support troubleshooting and performance optimisation.
- Embed security practices into pipelines and infrastructure, managing secrets, certificates, access controls, and compliance automation.
- Mentor junior engineers, influence engineering standards, and contribute to platform reliability strategies in a collaborative environment.
Main Skills Needed:
- Experience deploying secure, scalable web services in production.
- Strong background in DevOps/SRE practices and CI/CD tooling such as GitLab CI or Jenkins.
- Proficiency with containerisation and orchestration technologies, including Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform and Ansible.
- Knowledge of observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Kibana.
- Programming skills in Python, JavaScript, or Java, and a willingness to learn new tech.
- Experience with AI-enabled workflows and data pipelines is a bonus.
- Security awareness and experience with automation in classified and unclassified environments.
- Cloud experience, particularly with AWS, is desirable.
