Job Description

Associate Delivery Manager

Location: London
Salary: £48,000 – £72,000 per annum
Security Clearance: Must currently hold the highest level of UK Government security clearance

We're partnering with a leading organisation operating across defence, national security and technology to appoint an Associate Delivery Manager to support the successful delivery of complex, mission-critical programmes.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious professional looking to develop their career in project and delivery management, working alongside experienced Delivery Managers, technical specialists and customer stakeholders.

We're particularly interested in candidates with experience supporting projects, programmes or operational delivery activities who are keen to build their expertise within complex technical and highly regulated environments.

The Opportunity

As an Associate Delivery Manager, you'll support the planning, coordination and successful delivery of projects across customer-facing and internal programmes.

Working closely with experienced delivery professionals, you'll gain exposure to the full project lifecycle, contributing to project governance, financial tracking, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement.

This is a hands-on opportunity to take ownership of meaningful work packages, develop your project management capabilities and build the skills needed to progress into more senior delivery and project leadership positions.

Key Responsibilities

You'll play a key role in supporting successful project delivery by:

  • Supporting the planning, coordination and delivery of projects, ensuring key milestones and objectives are achieved.

  • Working alongside Delivery Managers and project teams to monitor progress, manage actions and maintain delivery schedules.

  • Assisting with project governance, including reporting, risk and issue management, financial tracking and forecasting.

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, delivery teams and business stakeholders.

  • Supporting Agile and Lean delivery practices to encourage collaboration and continuous improvement.

  • Identifying and helping resolve delivery challenges to minimise disruption and maintain project momentum.

  • Ensuring project documentation, reporting and delivery information remain accurate and up to date.

About You

You'll be an organised, proactive professional with experience supporting projects or operational delivery activities, alongside a strong interest in developing your career within project and delivery management.

You'll also have:

  • Experience supporting projects, programmes or operational delivery activities within a professional environment.

  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and workstreams.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • An interest in project management methodologies and continuous improvement.

  • Experience using Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, Jira, Confluence or similar collaboration and productivity tools.

  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a willingness to learn, develop and take ownership of responsibilities.

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience working within Agile, Scrum, Lean or other project delivery environments.

  • Knowledge of project governance, risk, assumption, issue and dependency (RAID) management, forecasting or resource planning.

  • Understanding of commercial project delivery, contracts or financial management processes.

  • Experience within defence, national security, government or other highly regulated environments.

  • Relevant project management qualifications, or working towards certifications such as PRINCE2 Foundation, AgilePM, APM Project Fundamentals Qualification (PFQ) or equivalent.

Due to the nature of the programmes involved, applicants must currently hold the highest level of UK Government security clearance.

Why Apply?

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your career within a specialist technical environment, gaining valuable experience supporting complex programmes that contribute to critical national security and defence capabilities.

You'll work alongside experienced professionals, benefit from structured development opportunities and gain exposure to a range of delivery activities designed to support your progression into more senior project and programme management roles.

In return, you'll benefit from:

  • Competitive salary of £48,000 – £72,000 per annum.

  • Flexible and hybrid working arrangements.

  • Compressed fortnight working pattern, including every other Friday off.

  • Private healthcare and dental cover.

  • Life assurance and a competitive pension scheme.

  • Flexible benefits, including critical illness cover and a health cash plan.

  • Holiday buy and sell scheme.

  • Annual performance incentive programme.

  • Professional development, training and mentoring opportunities.

  • Clear opportunities for career progression within complex, mission-critical programmes.
